Just as in Windows XP, you can send a fax through your Windows Vista computer also. Windows Vista does not have The Windows Fax and Scan component installed in it. • Connect the dial-up modem to your computer. Make sure that the phone line is securely connected to the computer.
• On your Windows Vista computer, click on the “Start” button or the “Windows orb” at the bottom left corner of the screen, choose “All Programs” and then click on Windows Fax and Scan“.

• Select “New Fax” on the toolbar to send a fax. When the window opens to send a new fax, enter the recipient details and fax number. The “To” field in the fax window is linked to addresses stored in Outlook or in the Windows Address Book to make it easy for you to select your contact’s fax number to enter in this field. If a contact to which you want to send the fax is not there on your Outlook address book or Outlook Contact list, then you should be entering the name and number of the recipient manually.
• Then you can enter your Fax message and hit “Send” button.
• After you hit Send, your fax shall be sent to the recipient in the ‘To’ field.
